What is Human Traficking?
Human Trafficking is the exploitation of men, women, and children for profit. This may look like various ways, including; recruitment, transportation, transfer, and harboring through that act of force, fraud, or deception. Traffickers will often make fake promises of education or job opportunities to trick their victims.
Know the Signs
There are warning signs to look out for which include.
- Appearing malnourished
- Tattoos/branding on the neck or lower back
- Showing signs of physical injuries and abuse
- Avoiding eye contact, social interaction, and authority figures
- Seeming scripted or rehearsed responses in social interaction
- Not allowing people to go into public alone, or speak for themselves
