Chief Executive Officer
Ms. DeMartino has served as RTD’s General Manager/CEO since 2001. Prior to joining RTD, she spent over 14 years at Sacramento Regional Transit (RT), where she was a member of the light rail start-up team and worked in rail operations, contracts administration, engineering and construction, and facilities and capital program management. Ms. DeMartino holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Transportation Management, and a certificate in Construction Management from UC Davis.
In 2006, Metro Magazine highlighted her achievements in an article on five "Women in Transportation" who "play a major role in the transportation industry." In 2009, CalACT (California Association for Coordinated Transportation) named Ms. DeMartino the 2009 “Transportation Manager of the Year.” In 2013, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce honored her with the “Business Manager of the Year” Award. In 2015, the WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar) Sacramento Chapter named her the 2015 “Woman of the Year” for her leadership in transit and contributions toward the advancement of diversity in transportation.
Ms. DeMartino is a Fellow of the Eno Transportation Foundation and a graduate of the Leadership APTA (American Public Transportation Association) program. She is a past chair of APTA’s CEO Committee, the immediate past chair of the California Transit Association's Executive Committee, and serves on the National Transit Institute Board. Ms. DeMartino also teaches transportation-related classes for San Jose State University, University of the Pacific, and other academic institutions.
Ms. Salazar joined RTD in 2002 as Assistant General Manager of Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining RTD, she served as a Finance Administrator at Sacramento Regional Transit (RT), where she gained over ten years of progressively responsible experience in public transit auditing, general accounting, grants, and project management. Ms. Salazar holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, a Master's Degree in Business Administration, and a Certificate in Transit/Paratransit Management Program with Pepperdine University. She passed the Uniform CPA Board in 1993 and is an active Certified Tax Preparer with the California Tax Education Council. She is a graduate of Leadership APTA.
Currently, Ms. Salazar serves on the California Transit Finance Corporation (CTFC) board, actively participates in T-FLEx (Transit Finance Learning Exchange), and teaches in a Transit Paratransit Management Certificate Program for the University of the Pacific.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Drozt joined RTD in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer to oversee transportation, maintenance, and paratransit operations. Prior to joining RTD, he worked at the Maryland Transit Administration as Director of Bus Transportation. Before that, Mr. Drozt held management and executive positions at Dunn Transportation, Xerox Corporation, MV Transportation, and Veolia Transportation. Mr. Drozt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Business Management with an emphasis on Leadership from Arizona State University.
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Thompson joined RTD in 2010 as IT Manager. Prior to joining RTD, he gained depth and breadth of experience in IT management, application development, access management, compliance, and security through his years as a consultant and as an employee at both Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard. Over his career, Mr. Thompson has specialized in strategic application of technology to solve business problems. Mr. Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from New Mexico State University, and has a Transit Paratransit Management Certificate from the University of the Pacific.
Legal Counsel-Labor and Employee Relations
Mr. Bradbury joined RTD in 2015 as Legal Counsel – Labor and Employee Relations. Prior to joining RTD, Mr. Bradbury practiced as a Labor and Employment Attorney for private law firms in San Francisco and Sacramento. Mr. Bradbury has experience in labor negotiations and arbitration, employment litigation, and providing counsel to public and private clients on labor and employment law matters.
Prior to the practice of law, Mr. Bradbury worked in human resource management. This experience included complaint investigation, employee relations, succession planning, and general human resources management responsibilities.
Mr. Bradbury holds a law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Utah State University, and a Bachelor’s from Brigham Young University.
Director of Facilities
Mr. Krell joined RTD in 2003 and again in 2010 as Facilities Superintendent-Projects. He has 30-plus years of experience in Facilities Management. Prior to joining RTD, he served as Facilities Supervisor at Sacramento Regional Transit, where he gained 14 years of progressively responsible transit experience in facilities maintenance, light rail station maintenance, bus stop maintenance, project management, contract administration, and labor relations. Mr. Krell holds four AA degrees in the areas of business, management, marketing, and small business, and has earned numerous industry certificates.
Director of Procurement
Ms. Miller joined RTD in 2007 as Procurement Contracts Manager. She has over 35 years of experience in procurement and contracts, the last 21 years of which were in government procurement. Prior to joining RTD, Ms. Miller began her transit career at Sacramento Regional Transit, where she worked as a Procurement Analyst/Contract Administrator; Senior Procurement Analyst; and Purchasing and Materials Administrator. Ms. Miller has led and participated in numerous transit industry trainings, including teaching Procurement for the University of the Pacific’s Transit Paratransit Certificate Program.
Karl E. “Nate” Knodt
Director of Planning
Mr. Knodt joined RTD in 2002 as Service Development Manager and has made notable developments during this tenure, including the restructuring of fixed route services, implementation of RTD Metro Express routes, design and creation of the Metro Hopper routes, and the design of additional service for Stockton Unified School District. Mr. Knodt graduated from the California State University, Chico with Bachelor’s degrees in Broadcasting Communications and Geography, with an emphasis on Urban Studies. Mr. Knodt also holds a teaching credential from the California State University, Sacramento.
