The Access Pass has arrived! Formerly known as the FREEdom Program, this pass gives ADA-certified customers the flexibility to travel wherever they please without making an advanced reservation. This free fare pass allows new and existing ADA passengers to ride most fixed-routes* services on all systems in the San Joaquin County free of charge.
All buses are ADA-accessible; without the requirement of making advanced reservations (as is necessary for ADA DAR), this provides greater freedom to our limited mobility passengers. To participate, simply show the Access Pass to the operator when boarding the bus.
Certified Access San Joaquin Passengers will be given a photo ID card. For customers who are not yet certified, the photo will be taken during the ADA in-person assessment.
For those interested in this program but are hesitant to use our fixed-route services, Access San Joaquin offers free travel training. The training teaches participants to identify landmarks, maneuver mobility aids on and off RTD buses, and travel to and from bus stops. To learn more, visit http://sanjoaquinrtd.com/travel-training/
